The 2017 Annual Research Meeting Call for Abstracts is Open!


ISNVD Call for Abstracts

Abstract Deadline:  Wednesday, January 18, 2017

“Stroke and Ischemia Brain Injury: Mechanisms, Imaging and Therapy in Neurodegeneration” is the theme of the 2017 Annual Meeting, offering researchers the opportunity to share important findings with providers and scientists who can put the research into action.  Abstracts are invited for these categories:

  • Innovative ultrasound imaging of extracranial vessels
  • Cerebral protection devices in Carotid Stenting
  • New devices in Carotid stenting procedure
  • Aortic arch endovascular repair and acute stroke prevention
  • Late breaking Imaging in Acute Stroke
  • New Horizons in the Treatment of Acute Stroke
  • Annette Funicello Presentations
  • Brain Hypoperfusion and Neurodegeneration
  • Imaging and Mechanisms of Neurodegeneration
  • Late Research and Talks
  • Anatomical and Hemodynamic Changes of Venous Outflow: could stenting be the solution?
  • Bridging the gap between extracranial flow and the Brain


Opportunities for Authors

Abstracts will be selected for podium and poster presentations.



The 2017 Annual Meeting Young Investigator Award

Abstract Deadline:  Wednesday, January 18, 2017

2017 ISNVD Young Investigator Award Amount:

There is a $500 award for the best young investigator abstract either oral or poster.


  • ISNVD will be accepting both podium presentations as well as posters based on the topics listed above.  

  • Applicants must be under the age of 30 years old and must therefore upload evidence thereof; i.e. a passport bio page.  This must be uploaded with your one singular Word document including the abstract, disclosure/COI and release forms which can be found under the “Forms” link on this website.  


Call for Abstracts General Information


Electronic Submission

All abstracts must be submitted electronically via the official ISNVD abstract submission link on the ISNVD website (www.isnvd.org).  Paper abstract submissions will not be accepted.  Go to www.isnvd.org/meetings; click on the “Call for Abstracts” tab.  All documents including the abstract (in a Word document), disclosure* and release forms must be uploaded to our website under the “Call for Abstracts” link.  The two forms that need to be completed and uploaded with your abstract can be found under “Forms” under the meeting link.  If you are submitting for the young investigator award as well, you must upload the bio page of your passport with your package as one document.  


Notification of Acceptance

Notifications of abstract acceptance or rejection will be e-mailed to the abstract submission account holder no later than January 15, 2017.


Call for Abstracts Instructions:

The initial abstract submission should be a short, concise description of your research with no more than 300 words with ½ inch margins and a font of Times New Roman - 12.  This initial paper should include:

  • If podium presentation or poster

  • Your name and Institution on it

  • Background

  • Objectives

  • Methods

  • Results

  • Conclusion

  • Keywords

  • Citations/References

In keeping with ACCME standards, participants must inform us about any sponsors or funding agencies supporting your project.


  • Conflicts of Interest: For the 12 months preceding this activity, please indicate the relevant companies (not dollar amounts) with which you had - or not - the following types of relationships: honoraria for speaking or moderating, compensation for consulting work, ownership of common stock and any companies who have supported your research or clinical trials within the last year. The Conflict of Interest declaration and release forms should be uploaded onto to the abstract link along with your actual abstract.   Please submit as one Word document.  Again, these documents are located under the meeting link under “forms.”


Prior Presentation/Publication

The ISNVD is committed to the dissemination of health services research. The ISNVD does not have any restrictions regarding previous publication.  As long as the work has not been presented at an ISNVD meeting in the past, it may be submitted.
